On June 18, the final of Simultaneous Interpreting Contest of the 6th National Interpreting Competition was held in the NewClass simultaneous interpreting conference room, School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Beijing Normal University. 24 contestants selected from all over the country participated in the competition in three groups. The contest started 2 minutes after the audition. The Chinese-English interpreting contest was 20 minutes and the 20-minute English-Chinese interpreting contest started immediately after a 5-minute break. A leader of the organizing committee, who was watching the battle on the spot, sighed with emotion, saying that the contest was very difficult, which tested the actual interpreting aptitude of the students.

The NewClass simultaneous interpreting conference room, School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Beijing Normal University consists of a chair, 8 double-seat interpreter room and 32 delegate seats. There were 3 sets of competition questions for 3 groups of contestants, 8 contestants in each group, and each contestant with a “box”. In the course of the competition, 7 competition judges sat in the delegate seat, listening to the interpreting by the contestants in the interpreter room through the toggle button. At the same time, the Newclass system conducted real-time dual-track recording for all the contestants in the whole course of the competition for more than 2 hours. The National Interpreting Competition (English) is a national competition sponsored by Translators Association of China, which aims to show college students’ English interpreting application ability. The competition is divided into consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting. The NewClass simultaneous interpreting training system was used in the final of the simultaneous interpreting from the first session of National Interpreting Competition. After the launch of NewClass DL760 10, the support for the competition was completed again. At present, the NewClass simultaneous interpreting training system has been expanded with many products to be selected.
