College of Foreign Languages and Literature of Fudan University is one of the earliest departments established by Fudan University. Its predecessor, the Department of Foreign Languages, was established as the same year as Fudan.

The College of Foreign Languages upholds the principle of student-centered international learning. NewClass Simultaneous Interpreting Training Room, a small but practical system, is used to teach English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean and other languages. Students use the NewClass simultaneous interpretation system to gradually complete diversified and multi-level language training, knowledge internalization, and simulation practice learning tasks; teachers can follow students' classroom activities and learning process, teach simultaneous interpretation skills with the dual-track recordings of training, correct translation errors, and vividly and accurately provide guidance and assistance to students in their daily training.

NewClass Simultaneous Interpreting Training Room is an innovation in the teaching mode for Fudan. The classroom has been in use for four years and with high frequency. Teachers from the School of Foreign Languages comment the NewClass Simultaneous Interpretation Training Room as easy to operate, supportive interactive teaching and records. These functions have well supported the teaching process and optimized the learning effect.
