Recently, the three-day “Academic Seminar on Translation Practice and Translation Education in the New Era & Multilingual Simulation Simultaneous interpreting on International Conferences and Interpretation & Translation Teaching Observation and Learning Activity” was held in Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Beijing NewClass Digital Technology Co., Ltd. attended the conference.

The seminar attracted more than 300 teachers from all over the country for participation. The unique highlights of the conference held in Beijing Foreign Studies University include observation and learning of relay simultaneous interpreting and open classroom for translation teaching.

In the relay simultaneous interpreting for more than 2 hours, all seats in the conference hall were quickly occupied. With the simultaneous interpreting of 9 languages, wonderful comments from the advisers, audience indulged in the presentation, it could be described as a grand banquet for simultaneous interpreting.

The wonderful event continued. On Monday morning, 11 departments for which BFSU MTI Education Expert Committee works out a teaching schedule, including Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation, School of English, School of German, School of Japanese, School of Russian, etc. opened classroom for interpretation & translation teaching. With more than 20 classrooms and 32 classes, it included simultaneous interpreting, consecutive interpreting, sight translation, fundamentals of interpretation and translation, computer-aided translation and other levels of translation teaching. NewClass engineers provided on-site support, followed up the class in the NewClass open classroom, collected feedback of the teachers on the teaching system. From 8:00 to 12:00, the teachers still desired to know more, and the NewClass system successfully fulfilled the classroom teaching tasks.
