The NewClass simultaneous interpreting classroom was officially opened at the MTI (Master of Translation and Interpreting) Education Center in the School of Foreign Languages for the 2023-2024 academic year. Located on the main campus, the classroom is designed for interactive teaching, consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting, and other educational applications across three translation specialties: English-Chinese interpreting, English-Chinese translation, and Japanese-Chinese interpreting. The MTI graduate program at Xi'an Jiaotong University emphasizes practical translation skills, using a collaborative training approach and a "dual-teacher" guidance model. The NewClass simultaneous interpreting classroom fully supports dual-teacher teaching, conference interpreting and other simultaneous interpreting teaching, training, simulation and practical training teaching modes. It cooperates with the MTI Education Centre to cultivate high-level, applied and professional interpreters with cross-disciplinary knowledge and skills, who are engaged in language service work in the fields of medicine, science and technology, foreign affairs, and external communication.
